Full Overview
M&A deals worth $10 billion or more have fallen by 42% during the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year. Geopolitical tensions, the persistent risk of recession and tightening US regulations have contributed significantly to a decrease in activity in the US and Americas. Dealmakers are focused on how to revive activity in 2024 to create a market rebound.
Private equity investors are increasingly embracing lower-risk private credit investments. Companies are tapping into their own funds to support struggling portfolio companies and provide returns to limited partners due to IPOs becoming more challenging. These are some of the strategies being deployed to revive M&A activity. There are signs of an uptake in M&A deal volumes, as multiple sectors recover from 2022’s lowpoint. Yet it remains to be seen how dealmaking will evolve in 2024 and which trends will dominate the landscape in the US and Americas.
This webinar, organised by the Financial Times in partnership with Datasite, will convene dealmakers to explore M&A trends in the Americas. The focus of the webinar will be on strategies that dealmakers can leverage to enhance market resilience in 2024.
